we had dinner at buzzy hot spot BUCCAN in palm beach this week….one
of the women at our table was wearing a necklace of semi-precious stones
and coral which was greatly admired….turns out the piece was crafted
right here at home by local gal Sasha Lickle….we went to Sasha’s
website, www.sashalickle.com,
and perused her designs…earrings, bracelets and necklaces, all one of a
kind, individually made with seashells, coral and glistening
semi-precious coloured stones….Sasha’s work has a beachy, laid back
style, yet is elegant and tasteful….not knowing anything about good
jewels we were surprised to see most of the photographed items in the
current collection were less than our monthly comcast bill! …. Ms.
Lickle has representation in a dozen or more retail shops in oceanfront
communities up and down the east coast as well as her website, so the
shopping is easy….treat yourself or drop a hint to the one close to you!

SHELL SHOCK,
A serious back injury sidelined Sasha Lickle from pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology. But, turning to a childhood hobby, she was able to pass the time and create beautiful jewelry as well. "I was four years into a five-year program when I hurt my back, and was literally bed bound for about nine months," she says. "Being stuck at home, I started making jewelry [to] keep myself busy.
Sasha Lickle Designs features seashell earrings, necklaces and bracelets, all handmade by Lickle, 26. Pieces can take anywhere from three hours to a week to complete, depending on the design. They are available in Palm Beach at Lily Holt and Leta Austin Foster , and in Lake Worth at Kourney Pulitzer. Lickle gets her shells through "a little old man in Lantana. I go down to him, and tell him I need something yellow or whatever, and he goes on amission for me and brings back all of these magnificent things."

Palm Beach native Sasha Lickle discovered her penchant for collecting seashells while summering in the Bahamas as a child. Now, the 26-year-old is turning her favorite pastime in a career. Three up-and-coming design
talents will be showcasing their collections with the hopes of enticing
some holiday shoppers to part with their Benjamins Wednesday evening at
the Completely Bare Spa, 304 S. County Road.
That cocktails will be served during the 5 to 8 p.m. event may help
open up the pockets of attendees, who can check out the latest Sasha
Lickle Designs' shell and semiprecious stone jewelry, Mary Nichols'
clutches, handbags and totes, Frances Webster's two lines, the Head
Case Hoodies collection of logo sweatshirts and her Frances Webster
Resort tunics and dresses.
Lickle and Webster are the locals in the trio, with New Yorker
Nichols doing her first Palm Beach trunk show of her handmade handbags.
Lickle's jewelry pieces range from $45 to $150. Nichols' clutches are $250, while her handbags are $500 and totes are $675.
Head Case Hoodies are $160, with Frances Webster Resort pieces all $145.

Sasha Lickle is making her e-tail debut on her recently launched Web
site, sashalickle.com. Her shell-themed pieces featuring semiprecious
stones, coral, natural seashells and 18-karat gold, priced mostly under
$100, can be purchased through the site. Through Aug. 1, customers can
enter the code "Sasha1" at checkout and receive 10 percent off their
order.

She sells seashells by the seashore. Palm Beach native Sasha Lickle's love affair with shells began on the beaches of the Bahamas. Those childhood summers spent trolling the sand would eventually inspire her to take a different path in life, perhaps when she needed it most.
Sasha was amassing an impressive academic resume - the Rollins College graduate had earned a master's degree in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University and had begun her doctoral work there - when a back injury left her bedridden for nine months.
'I was bored out of my mind,' the 26-year-old says.
Soon, an idea washed up: She would create her own line of jewelry using shells from all over the world.
Her necklaces, bracelets and earrings feature gold-plated sand dollars, red delphinium shells, pink coral and turquoise. Prices start at $45.
'I wanted to make a line that's inexpensive, because I don't think there are many lines out there that are under $200' a piece, she says.

Palm Beach is buzzing about the new handmade jewelry line from designer Sasha Lickle. Her collection features over 80 pieces of exotic shells, semi-precious stones and brightly covered corals.
Lickle, a native of Palm Beach, spent many summers throughout her life traveling the Bahamas. it was there the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean islands that she discovered her love for sea shells. From the time she could walk, Lickle would spend hours on the beach with her mother collecting shells. From that pastime blossomed a passion for the stylish and sophisticated shell jewelry that she makes today. As her collection grew so did her clientele. After being featured in local newspapers and trunk shows. Lily Holt, a Worth Avenue shoe and accessories boutique, approached Lickle to start carrying her unique one-of-a-kind collection in her store. "Sasha has an amazing talent. We are proud to feature her collection in our store" stated Allison Wren. VP of Lily Holt, LLC.
Although she never had professional training in jewelry design, she always had interest in creating her own line of jewelry. A tragic back injury forced Lickle to be bed bound for several months. It was during this down time that her creative side blossomed. She combined her love of seashells with her desire to create her own line of exquisite shell jewelry. Creativity reunites classmates Childhood friends to present apparel, jewelry colections tonight at Completely Bare sap.
"Islanders Frances Webster and Sasha Lickle recall meeting at the Junior Assembly while in first grade in Palm Beach Day School. Friends for almost 20 years, both women, now 25, have followed different career paths...
Webster
has always wanted to be in the fashion business, interning at Badgley
Mischka and Diane Von Furstenberg in New ork during summer breaks from
her art history studies at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
Lickle, on the other hand, is pursuing a doctorate in clinical
psychology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, although
she recently took a brea from her studies because of a back injury.
Last fall, however, Webster and Lickle found themselves on the same
business path, launching their own apparel and jewelry collections
which they will show from 6-8 tonight during a joint trunk show at the
Completely Bare spa...
For Webster, the Head Case Hoodies and Frances Webster Resort lines are
a starting point. She came up with the idea of creating hooded cotton
sweatshirts featuring silk-screened graphics only on the hood portion
of the garment when she was in college.
